What is poster design?
Posters are pieces of single printed paper that are attached to a wall or vertical surface in order to attract attention to them and thus the information they contain. Posters, much like flyers contain graphical images and text to accompany it. The general use of a poster is to convey a quick message to a large amount of people walking past them using bold catchy slogans to convey this quick message, as the viewer will only spend a few seconds scanning over it due to it being in an outside and busy environment.
Much like a flyer design, a poster design is printed in mass amounts to attract as much attention as possible by the viewing public, although because posters are usually attached to a fixed location such as wall, they are not discarded as much as flyers, so the volume of poster printing is usually less when compared to flyer printing. Posters are also generally of a lesser print quality than flyers as they have a short lifespan and is more cost effective.
