Logo Design

What is a logo design?

Logo design is an important area of graphic design and one of the most difficult to perfect. The logo is the image or render that is the face of an organization or company, making it a vital part of the current and future face of the company

  • Your business card helps people to identify and remember you. Make a good first impression with a well designed logo & business card.

Omada Studios like to get a basic understanding of your company’s branding goals, services and personality. This gives us a good idea of the design direction we want to head towards when designing your unique logo and feel.

What logo types are there?

The two major types of logo fall into the text based and symbol based versions.

  • Text based logos are heavily dependent on the chosen font which in itself conveys the felling of the company’s services. The coca-cola logo is probably the most famous example of a text logo.
  • Symbol based logos are the image version of a logo. Simple clever designs are the key points in creating or conceptualizing a symbol logo as the static image must speak with words when looked at. Logos have as most other design technologies, stepped into the 3d world where we see some logos being designed in 3d software packages where extra elements such as highlights and shadows can be added into the mix

A combination of text and symbol based logos are also an option when designing a logo, but can deter from the impact if it becomes too busy and cluttered.

How can I help with the logo design process?

When conceptualizing your logo, keep the design simple and clear limiting it only to a few spot colours and avoiding gradient colours as this will assist in your brand’s recognition later on when you have grown. Keeping the design simple will also help when branding it on advertising mediums such as stickers or clothing.

As with business cards, colour is very important to brand recognition and familiarization. Colours convey a certain feeling when used in correct and clever ways.

  • To attract attention, vibrate primary colours such as red or orange are used. A black and silver combination gives an important and sleek image such as those of an upmarket club or restaurant. Lighter blues and greens spell food and health while more subdued tones with a lower saturation can communicate relaxation, reliability and quality.
